Pairing Technology & Training to Develop a 21st Century Maintenance Strategy

Overview

One of our distribution partners, Iris Systems (not to be confused with IRISS, Inc.), was
approached by a client who relocated into a new purpose-built manufacturing
facility. The client’s engineering team was tasked with developing a world-class
maintenance strategy fit for the rigors of twenty-first century manufacturing.
They contacted Iris Systems for advice.

Iris Systems, headquartered in London, England, is a fully certified distribution
partner for the IRISS range of Electrical Maintenance Safety Devices (EMSD). Iris
Systems completed a site survey and recommended several solutions including
IR windows and ultrasound ports from IRISS.

The ultrasound ports are safer, with accurate partial discharge measurements,
to find problems like arcing, tracking and corona, thanks to the reinforced polymer
infrared viewing windows. This is ideally suited for harsh manufacturing
environments with extreme temperatures, mechanical stresses, moisture and other
airborne contaminants.

These innovative and patented infrared window solutions offered by IRISS have
allowed for faster and safer electrical thermography inspections at the client’s
facility. These solutions were implemented using the IRISS turnkey installation
service, also in partnership with Iris Systems.

Impressed with the products and services provided by both companies, the client
contracted IRISS to provide on-site Level 2 Thermography training.

The client stated they were eager to see effective training combined with solution
engineering. This will allow their maintenance staff to stay safe while empowering
